Get up and clean the house before the sun rises. Take a bath in the Ganges or sprinkle Ganga water by taking a bath with plain water. In the temple of the house, worship Lord Vishnu by lighting a lamp and decorate the house with flowers. Make a swastika with turmeric, Roli, or kumkum, and sprinkle Ganga water at the main entrance of the house. Light a lamp around the Bodhi tree and offer flowers by immersing milk in its roots. Donate food and clothes to the poor. If you have any birds in your house, set them free today. After lighting up, offer water to the rising moon.

Important Facts

Lord Buddha was born in 563 BC in a place called Lumbini in Kapilvastu, Nepal. His father's name was Shuddhodhana, who was the head of Shakya Gana, and his mother's name was Maya Devi. When Siddhartha (Buddha's childhood name) was just seven days old, his mother died at the same time. After this, he was brought up by his step-mother Prajapati Gautami.

Buddha became a monk at the age of just 29 and underwent hard penance for 6 years under the Peepal tree in the Bodh Gaya. After this, he attained true knowledge on the day of Vaishakh Purnima. The peepal tree under which he attained enlightenment is called the Bodhi tree. The place was located in the Gaya district of Bihar state at the time. Lord Buddha gave the first sermon at Sarnath. In the Cheerkal, Lord Buddha merged into Panchatatva on the day of Vaishakh Purnima in 483 BC. This day is called Parinirvana Day.
