Navratri - one of the most awaited festivals in India is actually celebrated four times a year. However, people of North India prefer celebrating Magha Navratri while in South India Ashada Navratri is a popular one.

This nine days ritual is performed to worship Goddess Shakti and her divine incarnations such as Tara Devi, Tripura Sundari, Kali, Bhuvaneshwari, Chinnamasta, Bhairavi, Dhumravati, Baglamukhi, Matangi and Kamala Devi. During this auspicious time, devotees worship Maa Durga as per the rituals mentioned in the religious scriptures and also observe fast. In fact, Navratri is the right time to meditate and seek exceptional powers. Ashada Navratri 2020 begins from 22nd June.

By presenting white lotus, you will have good command over your mind and speech and for peace of mind, it is advised to offer white jasmine flowers to the deity.
