Rakhtbeej had the boon that wherever a drop of his blood from his body used to fall, a new Rakhtbeej would be produced from it. So whenever the Mahakali hit theRakhtbeej, many Rakhtbeej would be produced from her blood.
Then the mother's form of Bhagwati in Mahakali arrived and before the blood of Rakhtbeej fell on the earth she took it into her mouth. In this way, Mahakali killed the Rakhtbeej and freed the gods from their terror by killing the demon. There are many forms of Bhagwati Kalika i.e. Mahakali. They have been called Shyama, Dakshina Kalika (Dakshina Kali), Guham Kali, Kalratri, Bhadrakali, Mahakali, etc.
