Important Facts

According to the Vat Savitri Vrat story, Savitri's husband has a short age to live a life. Savitri was also aware of that. One day suddenly Satyavan's head started suffering immensely. Savitri understood her future and made her husband sit down and lie down on her lap. At the same time, Savitri saw Yamraj with many Yamdoots. When Dharmaraja took Satyavan's life, Savitri also followed him.

Yamraj said that in addition to the life of the husband, ask for whatever you want and return. Savitri asked for a boon to become the mother of Satyavan's hundred sons. Yamraj said Tathastu and went ahead. Savitri still followed him. Yamraj gets angry with this work of hers. Seeing the anger of Yamraj, Savitri bowed to him and said, "You have blessed me to be the mother of hundred sons, but how can I become a mother without a husband, that is why you have to give a new life to my husband to fulfill your third boon.
