Story of Pradosh Vrat

Pradosh Vrat’s significance in Indian tradition is of the utmost importance and is supported by a Pradosh Vrat Katha you all need to know about. The story says that there lived a Brahmin couple in a city, of which the husband lost his life. This couple had a child named Mangalia who roamed around every morning begging with his mother.

On their way home, he saw an injured boy who was the prince of Vidarbha, whose father was captive by enemies. This little boy stayed at the Brahmins house where he was seen by a pretty Gandharva girl named Anshumati who was fascinated by him. The prince and the girl later got married while Pradosh Vrat observed by the Brahmin’s widow helped the captivated king free himself from the enemies.

As a result, both the Brahmini & his son were given a place in the palace, with the son being the prime minister of the Vidarbha kingdom. And this is how the Vrat of Brahmini made her son gain progress with the grace of Lord Shankar.
