When is Lalita Saptami actually celebrated?

As per the Gregorian Calendar, Lalita Saptami 2020 falls on the 25th of August month. According to the Hindu lunar calendar, Lalita Saptami appears on the seventh day of Bhadrapada month.

Lalita Saptami Significance

Lalita Devi is recognised as one of the most adorable among all eight Gopis who showed their divine adherence towards Lord Krishna and Radha Rani. The group of Gopis is called Ashthasakhi that includes Gopis named Lalita, Shri Visakha, Shri Chitralekha, Shri Champakalata, Shri Tungavidhya, Shri Indulekha, Shri Rangadevi, and Shri Sudevi. Lalita Devi had a pale yellow appearance and wore peacock featured clothes.

Lalita Devi was having the ultimate dedication and honesty towards Lord Krishna and Radha Rani. She was born in a village named Karehla and after that, her father took her to Uchagaon that still has a display of signature of her lotus feet and urns used by Lalita Devi to serve Lord Krishna and Radha Rani. It is also believed that a display of the signature of her lotus feet shines in the sunlight.

What to do on Lalita Saptami

Devotees on the day of Lalita Saptami wake up early in the morning and take a bath. They worship Lord Krishna, Radha Devi, and Lalita Devi to seek their blessings. Recite the mantras and read the stories of Radha-Krishna for significant results. Devotees decorate the temples of Radha Krisha and Bhajans, folk songs, and dance are performed in the temples of Radha-Krishna. On the evening of Lalita Saptami, devotees and children perform joyful acts on Raslila of Krishna to show their devotion towards Lord Krishna.
