Kamdev Rati Puja

Kamdev and Rati are the two deities who fills love and affection in one’s life. Kamdev is also called Ratikanta as Rati Devi is his consort. Kamdev is the embodiment of manhood and charm while Devi Rati is a personification of beauty and grace.

One can find the illustrations of Kamdev and Rati Devi in the holy scriptures where Kamdev along with Rati Devi tries to disturb and distract Lord Shiva while he was in a deep meditation. All the Gods were fed up with the furious acts of the demon Tarakasura and only Lord Shiva’s son could put an end to the demon. But, the Gods did not have the courage to directly approach Lord Shiva and so they took the help of Kamdev and Goddess Rati. The Gods requested Kamdev to fill Lord Shiva’s mind and heart with love and spring desire inside him.
