The process of this Vaishnavi Homam begins with the puja of Goddess Vaishnodevi just before dawn in the wee hours. She is then bathed with water and Panchamrut which consists of ghee, milk, honey, curd & sugar. She is then dressed-up in saree, Chuni, Chola and beautiful ornaments.
Along with the chanting of mantras, Prasad & Aarti is also performed by the priests on behalf of the performer of the ritual. Once the Homam is completed you need to offer the Dakshina and food to the Pandits.

Goddess Vaishnavi is one of the Sapta Matrikas - the Seven Divine Goddess who represents Shakti of Lord Vishnu. She came out from the body of Lord Vishnu who wears ornaments and rides on the same Vahana or vehicle which Lord Vishnu rides.
Seated on the Vahana, this four-armed Goddess carries conch, discus, sword, club and bow & arrow, hence is also called Chaturbhuji who poses of Abhaya & Varada mudra. Moreover, it is also said that Sapta Matrikas are the mental qualities of Sadhakas which one needs to avoid.
Said to be the Mother of all the living things, Goddess Vaishnavi holds pain & joy in her right hand, while her left-hand holds life & death. Known as the Goddess of fertility, rain, nature & health, she holds the entire Universe in her uterus.
