Happy or Sad? Pictures in your apartment can have an impact!

You have just moved into your new home and you are extremely excited of doing up your home the way you have always wanted. You want to put up the pictures of your family, friends and all the other paintings and work of art you have collected over the years in different rooms. You want every wall to tell a story with the pictures you hang on them that are a reflection of your personality and character. However, we often neglect how important vastu principles can be to deciding which picture will go where. We often think of Vastu in terms of positioning of the house or the rooms or having a particular water body in the home and ignore the fact that they also have an impact on where pictures, paintings and photographs are placed in the house.

There are certain Vastu tips that can go a long way in ensuring you get to not only hang the pictures but also experience complete joy and fulfillment at all times. Some of these tips are:

  1. We all love to display family pictures and that is one of the first things you notice the moment you walk into someone’s house. But we never give it a thought that placing such pictures on certain walls can have a positive impact. Family pictures should always be hanged on the Southwest wall, as this will increase harmony and create a stronger bond between the family members. It is best to avoid placing family pictures in the northern or eastern corner of the house.
  2. If the picture is based on certain elements such as water then it is best to place them in the northern wall of the house while pictures with fire element can be hanged on the southern wall.
  3. According to vastu principles, hanging pictures of deceased family members is not allowed on all the walls and worship rooms. Even if one needs to place the pictures of ancestors, it should be best done on the southern walls.
  4. Pictures that depict negativity, grief, evil or even loneliness should not be placed inside your home, as they are bound to create feelings of negativity instead of happy and positive moments.
  5. Paintings that are abstract in nature and do not specify any particular meaning is not worth being displayed in your home. These paintings tend to increase stress and confusion rather than create calmness in home.
  6. It is important to have only bright and beautiful pictures that emanate happy and positive vibes.
  7. It also makes sense to avoid any kind of unpleasant images of animals.
  8. Paintings and pictures of fruits bring about a positive energy and it is best to hang them especially in the dining room.

Keeping these simple Vastu tips in mind will go a long way in creating the right atmosphere and enhancing peace and harmony in your home.
