As per the Hindu calendar, Gudi Padwa is celebrated on the Chaitra Shuddha Pratipada. This is the first day of the Hindu year. This is one of the three and a half auspicious moments mentioned in the Puranas. On this day, people in Maharashtra erect Gudi in front of their houses. Guda Padwa is celebrated as Ugadi in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

What's Included

Wake up early in the morning on the occasion of Gudi Padwa. Gudi Should be raised at the time of sunrise. To raise a Gudi, take a tall stick. Cover a silk cloth on the upper end of that stick and tie Neem twigs, mango leaves, flower garlands, sugar bales on that stick. It was made of copper-bronze or bronze. The place where Gudi is to be placed should be cleaned, washed and Rangoli should be made on it. Gudi stick should be tied there. The Gudi should be worshiped. Apply Niranjan and offer milk, sugar, petha to Gudi. In the afternoon, sweet Naivedya is offered to Gudi.
