After the morning bath, install the idol of Ganesh on a red cloth at a clean post. Offer durva 108 times while chanting Shri Ganesh Mantra. Offer five bales of yellow turmeric. Offer 5 modak as an offering to Ganesha and offer sweetmeats of jaggery, fruits and sesame. After the puja, distribute all this material in the form of prasad, and then keep a fast for the whole day. Recite Ganapati Atharvashish in the evening and offer sesame seeds as an offering to lord Ganesha. This is how your fast ends.
