Among the 27 nakshatras, Ashwini Nakshatra is the first in the list and is denoted by horse head. Ketu is the ruling planet of this nakshatra and it got its name from the heavenly forms Ashwini Kumaras who were born to Sun God and his wife Sanga. Ashwini Kumaras are regarded as the physicians of Gods and other heavenly bodies.
