Vaastu Shastra is a primeval science that is helpful for designing a building that would oblige in making our lives better. It is a combination of science, art, astronomy, and astrology. Vaastu Shastra brings together all five elements of nature: air, water, earth, space and fire and stabilizes them with the man and materials of the house. It is believed that Vaastu balances the environment at home and bestows mental peace, health, wealth and brings in good luck and prosperity.

But, one cannot expect a miracle to happen overnight. It is a process that would bring positivity into your life by bringing in changes steadily. Despite the building being constructed as per the Vaastu principles, one needs to follow few more tips to bring in happiness.

Entrance

Encompassing a beautiful entrance attracts wealth and prosperity. One should plan and have the entrance door in the North or east direction as it is believed to be auspicious. Always keep the entrance clean, bright and tidy. Avoid placing the shoe-rack at the entrance as brings in negativity.

Wall

If there is a wall at the entrance, don’t leave it empty. Empty wall signifies loneliness especially if it is at the entrance. So adorn the wall with paintings or hang pictures of God or decorate it as per your likings and interest.

Kitchen

A kitchen is a place from where food is supplied hence it is mandatory to maintain balance in the two opposite forces of nature that are fire and water. One must ensure that the stove and the sink should be as far as possible and they shouldn’t be in the same line.

Bedroom

To get a good sleep, the bedroom has to be strictly designed as per the Vaastu principles and one must make sure that fresh air flows into the room and is well lit. Choose some gentle colours to paint the walls of the bedroom and use minimum furniture in it.

Paintings

The paintings depicting the view of the river, flowing water or goldfish hanged on the wall attracts positive energy and lets in good luck. The larger the painting, the more positive energy flows in.

Aquarium

Having an aquarium at home brings in positive energy. However one must make sure that the fishes in the aquarium are healthy and active. The water in the aquarium should be cleaned on regular basis. The ideal place for the aquarium is the north-east position of the room.

A water fountain

Placing a water fountain in the north-east part of your home attracts fresh and positive energy and one must make sure that the flow of water is continuous. Flowing water indicates the flow of energy and prosperity.
