Solah Somvar Udyapan Puja or Vrat begins from Monday in the month of Shravana (July-August) and concludes at the end of Monday. Once the fast or the Vrat is completed, it is very important to do Udyapan or completion on the 17th day.

What's Included

Starting from the month of Shravan, this Puja should be done for 16 consecutive Mondays where one should wake up early in the morning on Monday, take bath and wear white clothes.

Collect all the items required for the Puja and clean the area where the idol or the picture of Lord Shankar is to be placed. Cannabis, Belpatras, water, incense, lamps, Gangajal, datura, perfume, white sandalwood, Roli, Ashtagandha, white clothes, Naivedya, jaggery, and Panchamrut (ghee, sugar, curd, honey & milk)

Once you install the idol of the Lord, offer beautiful flowers, garlands, and Panchamrut. Here, only white flowers which are liked by Lord Shankar are offered to him. Along with white sweets, Gangajal, Bilva Patra, datura, and cannabis on the Shivling.

Moreover, put black seeds & offer 11 Lotus water on the Shivling. Once the puja is done, you can consume the food only one time a day. Moreover, to take note you should sleep on the ground at night. Chanting of the Almighty mantra helps you to fulfill your desires.
