Going through sleepless nights? The position of your bed might be the reason

Home is a place where we live with our beloved family contentedly. It is very much essential to design and construct the house in accordance with the Vastu guidelines. Architects follow Vastu Shastra while designing and this has not come into practice recently but from ancient times.

Vastu Shastra is an Indian science of architecture and is referred to while constructing a building so that people living there or working there will experience positivity and also see growth in all aspects of life. Those planning to build a residence to settle down with the family must ensure that all the rooms of the house are made as per Vastu especially the bedroom and the placement of the bed in it.

According to Vastu Shastra, having a bedroom in the south-west direction of the house is considered to be auspicious as it attracts positivity and bestows the residents a healthy and long life.

Coming to the position of the bed, below are few do’s and don’t’s:

  • The first thing is, beds should be in the bedrooms and not in the drawing or living room of the house.
  • As per Vastu Shastra, the bed should be kept in such a way that your head is towards the east or south direction. These directions are believed to bless the residents a happy and prosperous life.
  • Do not place the beds at the corner of the bedroom.
  • North is not at all an ideal direction for positioning the bed.
  • To enjoy good name and fame, place your bed facing the west direction.
  • Avoid keeping the beds close to the bathrooms.
  • Do not place the bed under the beam of the room.
  • The shape of the bed should not be round or oval-shaped.
  • It is recommended to have a bed made of wood rather than metal as metal beds create negative vibes.
  • You must make sure that there is no mirror in front of your bed as seeing one’s reflection in the mirror while sleeping is considered inauspicious.
  • Having two separate beds in the master bedroom or in the room that is for couples is considered inauspicious.
  • It is not advised to place the beds close to high volume speakers and other instruments that would disturb one’s sleep.
