Lord Ganpati who is called by the name “Vighnaharta” the remover of obstacles is worshipped by many devotees all over the world with great devotion & faith. Celebrated to honor Lord Ganesha, Ekadanta Sankshati Chaturthi is observed on every Lunar month of the Hindu calendar on the fourth day of Krishna Paksha.

Ganpati is also worshipped just before the commencement of any important work, activity, job, journey, or while traveling.

  • Those observing fast on this day are suggested to consume only milk, fruits, or roots of plants.
  • Along with the lighting of the lamp, a few Vedic mantras & ‘Vrat Katha’ is read.
  • After the completion of the puja in the evening, get the sight of the moon & offer water, sandalwood paste, rice, & flowers.
  • Once the complete procedure is over, the fast ends.

On Ekadanta Sankshati Chaturthi, many devotees prepare Modak in a large quantity and offer as Bhog to the Lord. Followed by the Ganpati Aarti and chanting of a few mantras this puja is concluded and the Prasadam is later distributed among the devotees.
