Varalakshmi Vrat is a holy festival celebrated to appease the deity of boons. Goddess Varalakshmi is a manifestation of Goddess Lakshmi who is the consort of Lord Vishnu. As per the Gregorian Calendar, Varalakshmi Vrat 2020 falls on 31st of the July month. According to the Hindu calendar, Varalakshmi Vrat is observed on the second Friday or the Friday before the full moon day.

What to do on Varalakshmi Vrat

Wake up early in the morning and take a bath. As this Vrat is performed by married women they should observe fast on this day. Put a beautiful rangoli and place and sacred Kalash which is made up of silver, brass, copper. Fill the Kalash with rice and put the mango leaves and coconut on the top of Kalash. Decorate the Kalash with jewellery, clothes, and invoke Goddess Varalakshmi. Offer her fruits, food grains, dry fruits, and place currency notes, coins, and in front of her. Offer prayers with complete dedication to goddess Lakshmi.
