Take a bath in the morning and offer water to Surya and Pitru Purusha. Make a Rangoli of seven colors outside the house or in the middle. Put a lamp with four faces in the middle and light the four faces. Offer red flowers and pure sweet substance to lord Surya.Chant Gayatri Mantra, or Surya Beej Mantra. After chanting, donate wheat, good sesame, copper vessels, and red cloth to needy people. After that, everyone along with the head of the house should take food.
