The Dahi Handi ritual symbolizes the breaking of an earthen vessel tied to a height by a team of several youths which is considered a sporting event. In its long history, this festival has been recognized as one of the most interesting and widely known country sports in India. During the auspicious festival of Dahi Handi, a large earthen pot is filled with fruit, honey, butter, curd, and milk. Then, this pot is hung from a height of about twenty to forty feet. When Lord Krishna and his army began to look at the neighborhood houses to get yogurt and milk, the women of the neighborhood started to take precautions. In the attempt to save the pots filled with butter and yogurt started hanging at a height. The main idea behind this was to take advantage of the small height of the young Lord Krishna and his army to save these utensils from their hands by keeping them out of reach.
To challenge the thinking of these women, Lord Krishna devised a plan to climb and build human pyramids to reach the pottery. Since that period, Dahi Handi has become a fun and vibrant festival among Indian culture.
